Ken Parratt and Ian Stanford formed Tackle Finance Limited in February 2003. The name came from a play on words; with a passion for rugby, and the colloquial term for equipment.

The purpose of the joint venture was to pool experience, share workload and justify a variety of funders. Eve Summers and Jan Parratt have been with Tackle Finance from the beginning, with Luke Parratt joining in 2009.

Jeff Hamblen, Julian Frost, and Richard Holdcroft have since expanded the ranks to allow Tackle Finance to have full coverage of the South of England.
